PALS Renewal Training
The Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Renewal course provides healthcare providers the opportunity to practise and train in dynamic role-playing situations that mirror real life. You will be introduced to a wide range of life-threatening, all-hands-on-deck scenarios involving pediatric patients experiencing respiratory emergencies, shock and cardiopulmonary arrest in which you apply a systematic approach that includes the evaluate-identify-intervene sequence. The goal is to strengthen your ability to recognize, intervene, communicate and work effectively as a critical member of a healthcare team.
PRE-REQUISITES
- Completed PALS Pre-course Assessment. Passing score 70%.
- Valid PALS Provider course (within the last 24 months).
- Valid BLS certification from Heart and Stroke Foundation (completed within the last 12 months).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients. This includes but is not limited to: physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, registered respiratory therapists, dentists, dental assistants.
