SUMMARY:IAHPC Workshop: Speak with Impact - Palliative Care Elevator Pitch
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nAn elevator pitch is a clear\, brief message\, typically about 30 seconds: the time of a typical elevator ride. An elevator pitch is approximately 80 to 90 words\, or 8 to 10 short sentences. \nWhy is an elevator pitch important? \nFirst impressions matter and research show that these are formed within seconds of the first encounter. \nThe goal of this two-module workshop is to provide IAHPC members a tool to make the most of anticipated and unexpected opportunities to relay a compelling message about palliative care. This elevator pitch workshop prepares you to effectively share information with others\, no matter how brief the opportunity. \nLearning objectives: By the end of the workshop participants will be able to: \n\nDefine the concept\, purpose\, and format for a palliative care elevator pitch.\nDevelop a personalized palliative care elevator pitch.\nPresent their palliative care elevator pitch effectively.\n\nAn internal committee will select twelve IAHPC members in good standing who respond to this call and meet the following criteria: \n\nHave good English speaking and writing skills\nCan access a high-speed internet connection\nAre available to participate in the two live sessions\n\nDates: June 26 and 27. Each module will last 90 minutes.\nTime: 7:00 PST\, 9:00 CST\, 10:00 EST\, 14:00 GMT\, 16:00 CET \nPreregistration is required. IAHPC members who participate in both sessions will receive a Certificate from the IAHPC. \nThe webinar is free for IAHPC members. Join/Renew your IAHPC membership to support our advocacy and communications program.

SUMMARY:Resuscitation Course for Acute Medicine Practicing Physicians
DESCRIPTION:CCCS is pleased to announce the N-ACES *NEW* Resuscitation Course for Acute Medicine Practicing Physicians (ReCAPP). Register before April 30 to take advantage of early-bird rates! \nReCAPP has been designed to provide a high-quality\, interactive educational opportunity for Canadian practicing physicians who are involved in the initial or ongoing care of acutely unstable patients\, increasingly cared for outside the walls of an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). \nThis course\, delivered by a group of Canadian critical care physician-educators\, will offer to its participants numerous opportunities for practice and formative feedback\, in a non-judgmental\, low-risk\, informal learning environment. Our main goal is to create conditions where physicians can learn together and from each other how to care for their sickest patients\, and ultimately\, improve the quality of care received by critically ill patients. \nWho Should Attend? \nAny physicians (e.g.\, emergency medicine\, internal medicine\, family medicine\, etc.) involved intermittently or routinely in the care of acutely and severely ill patients (e.g.\, who may require a transfer to the ICU or are already admitted in an ICU)\, and who want to 1) practice or upscale clinical skills that they need but may use only sporadically\, 2) advance their knowledge and skills within specific areas of practice\, and/or 3) ensure they are up to date on a range of topics. \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Antipsychotic Use in LTC Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Many long-term care homes have rates of potentially inappropriate antipsychotic use well above Canada’s new 15% target.
