DESCRIPTION:During this session the doctors will discuss their book Hope for the Best\, Plan for the Rest\, and their newly released corresponding workbook. These resources\, and Sammy and Hsien’s stories\, draw upon their decades spent researching and caring for thousands of seriously ill patients to reveal the seven keys for a better illness experience. With real-life stories\, tips\, and exercises to improve the palliative journey right from diagnosis\, they seek to empower patients and care partners and provide practical tools to navigate the health care system with knowledge\, confidence\, and clarity.  \nFee: No cost to attend but donations are welcome DONATE TODAY!  \nDr. Samantha Winemaker\, MD – is a palliative care physician who cares for patients with serious illness and their families in the home. She is a clinical professor at McMaster University in the Department of Family Medicine\, Division of Palliative Care. She has won numerous awards for her leadership and palliative care education for health care professionals   \nDr. Hsien Seow\, PhD – is the Canada Research Chair in Palliative Care and Health System Innovation and a professor in the Department of Oncology at McMaster University. He publishes health care research focused on improving the patient and family experience for those facing serious illness.
