Event Description:
Over the last two years, the Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health (CCSMH) focused its attention on developing three new national clinical guidelines: 1) the assessment and treatment of anxiety in older adults; 2) the assessment and management of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, and; 3) social isolation and loneliness in older adults. This webinar, featuring the guidelines’ clinical leads, will provide an overview of the processes for developing the guidelines as well as highlights of some of the key recommendations.
CCSMH is a national non-profit organization affiliated with the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry. Funding for the development of these guidelines was provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada (anxiety and BPSD) and an anonymous foundation (social isolation and loneliness).
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the processes used for developing the three clinical guidelines.
- Become familiar with the key topics and recommendations for each of the three guidelines.
- Consider how to move these recommendations into clinical practice.
