The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is pleased to invite physicians and medical learners to an upcoming virtual session on Indigenous allyship and culturally safe care, to be held Nov. 25 from 12 to 2 pm ET.
Hosted by CMA President Dr. Joss Reimer and featuring a panel discussion with Dr. Ojistoh Horn, Dr. Melissa Lem and Dr. Sarah Lespérance, the session is an opportunity to:
- learn about the CMA’s journey of reconciliation;
- discuss the role of Indigenous self-determination in culturally safe and responsive care;
- explore the concept of relationality and how it can be integrated into patient care and community engagement; and
- identify opportunities to restore, build and strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities.
Spaces are limited. Registration closes on Nov. 22. The session will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation in French.
You can learn more about the CMA’s work in this space in advance of the session by visiting cma.ca/indigenous-health.
