Anticipating End of Life: Competencies for Compassionate, Person-Centred Care
September 2, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
As serious illness advances or the body declines with age, there are key signs indicating that death is near. Timely recognition of these changes by home care providers enables prompt symptom management, ensures comfort, and helps guide families through emotional and practical preparations.
In this ECHO session, Dr. Doris Barwich, palliative care physician, will explore how home care providers can recognize these signs, address symptoms, and communicate with families—essential elements of compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care that align with patient wishes and values.
