IAHPC Workshop: Speak with Impact – Palliative Care Elevator Pitch

An elevator pitch is a clear, brief message, typically about 30 seconds: the time of a typical elevator ride. An elevator pitch is approximately 80 to 90 words, or 8 to 10 short sentences.
Why is an elevator pitch important?
First impressions matter and research show that these are formed within seconds of the first encounter.
The goal of this two-module workshop is to provide IAHPC members a tool to make the most of anticipated and unexpected opportunities to relay a compelling message about palliative care. This elevator pitch workshop prepares you to effectively share information with others, no matter how brief the opportunity.
Learning objectives: By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Define the concept, purpose, and format for a palliative care elevator pitch.
- Develop a personalized palliative care elevator pitch.
- Present their palliative care elevator pitch effectively.
An internal committee will select twelve IAHPC members in good standing who respond to this call and meet the following criteria:
- Have good English speaking and writing skills
- Can access a high-speed internet connection
- Are available to participate in the two live sessions
Dates: June 26 and 27. Each module will last 90 minutes.
Time: 7:00 PST, 9:00 CST, 10:00 EST, 14:00 GMT, 16:00 CET
Preregistration is required. IAHPC members who participate in both sessions will receive a Certificate from the IAHPC.
The webinar is free for IAHPC members. Join/Renew your IAHPC membership to support our advocacy and communications program.
