2023 Palliative Medicine Resident Award Presentation
Join us to hear the top 3 scoring abstracts from our own palliative medicine residents and vote for the 2023 Palliative Medicine Resident Research Award Winner.
The Palliative Medicine Resident Award winner is selected through a webinar-based presentation and online vote. Join the webinar to hear presentations from three of Canada’s outstanding palliative medicine residents, then cast your ballot for the best!
Moderator: Dr. Jeff Myers, Resident Award Lead
Participants: CSPCP Members
Presenters:
Dr. Arun Agha, Queen’s University – The development of an end-of-life medication deprescribing and conversion guide for trainee use
Dr. Stephanie Cheon, Queen’s University – Improving care coordination between palliative care physicians and family physicians for patients with cancer
Dr. Alexandre Coholan, McGill University – Canadian physicians’ attitudes and experiences providing palliative care to sexual and gender minority people
Details: The Palliative Medicine Resident Award is for the best scholarly project by a resident enrolled in a Canadian palliative medicine residency program.
The webinar platform provides an opportunity for residents of the three top-scoring abstracts to share their work through a 10-minute presentation and 5-minute question and answer period provided. Members in attendance of all three presentations (to ensure fairness) are invited to vote for the winner online at the end of the presentations, using criteria shared by the moderator. The winner will be announced at the end of the webinar and will receive a cash prize of $1000.
The Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians Webinar Series is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
CFPC members may claim 1 Mainpro+ Non-certified Group Learning credit.
